Saturday, February 2nd, 2013
Welcome to our wedding website. We feel blessed to have found each other and want to share our joy with you. Since a few of our friends and family know both of us well, we would like to introduce ourselves to you through this site. We also want to share our preparation with you and important information about our big day. We hope that many of you can join us in person on that day.
How We Met
We met in Seattle, WA, on August 11, 2011, and shared Molly's Moon's Maple Walnut ice cream (Min's favorite flavor) while walking around Cal Anderson Park. Min had then just moved to the city for her new job. Little did she know when she accepted her new challenge that the biggest adventure of her life was right around the corner!
We got engaged on May 20, 2012. We took a walk in the SAM Sculpture Park/ Myrtle Edwards Park and watched another beautiful Puget Sound sunset together.
Electrical engineer, fiercely driven, nature lover, witty, warm-hearted, loyal, loves putting together Legos at breakneck speed and devouring Min's cooking.
Medical oncologist, determined to make a difference in people's lives, choral singer, goofy, happy, loves lazy Saturday mornings and trying out new recipes for Eric.
Wedding pictures are here! We are happy to finally some pictures from our big day on February 2nd. Because we have so many we want to share we've had to break them up in to two albums. This one contains pictures from the preparation for the ceremony and the ceremony it self. As I'm sure you can imagine this is just a sample of the hundreds of pictures we have. We think they are the best of the best! If any of you would like a digital copy of any of these photos please send us an email or use the Feedback Form at the bottom of this page. What a party! What fun! Let's get married again! We had so much fun with all of our friends and family at our wedding reception. The speeches, Lego prizes, photo booth, dancing, and all the children made our reception a very special event for us. We hope you enjoy reliving a bit of that night through these photos and if you want a copy just email us or use the Feedback Form at the bottom of this page. Please include the photo numbers of the files you would like. To get the photo number click on the photo and look in the lower left-hand corner of the picture.
Here are a few pictures from the first few hours of our honeymoon. The trip started out with a broken luggage bin, which Delta kindly fixedwith tape to prevent a serious delay. Neither of us had ever been to Kona and we really felt like we had arrived at a tropical paradise when we deplaned via stairs, not a jet way, and walked into an open air terminal. Our adventure on the island began by renting a Jeep Wrangler. More to come!
November was a very busy month for us. Eric was away in Turkey for work during the first half of the month, which led us to conduct much of our wedding planning over email. We finalized more details about the menu, the cake, the flowers, hotel, and finally, our invitations. We spent the weekend putting together the invites ... to be found in your mailboxes in the near future!
As a part of a preparation for a Catholic wedding, we attended an all-weekend retreat seminar in Federal Way, WA. Although premarital classes, such as the Engaged Encounter Weekend, is technically a requirement, we both thought it was a rich experience designed to prepare us for a lifetime of a successful marriage. It was a treat to get away and spend such concentrated time connecting with each other and sharing thoughts and feelings so important for our future. Although the weather was mostly chilly and rainy, the fall colors admixed with raindrops provided us a serene, reflective environment. Here is a picture of a heart-shaped leaf, glistening with morning raindrops, which we ... [There is more. Click on the title above.]
Time flies! It is now less than 4 months away from our wedding and we returned to KY to start laying down details for the day. This was a trip filled with indulgences - we began the trip with a tasting with McHale's, who will be providing our delicious reception dinner. After stuffing our bellies with delicious food and wine on Saturday afternoon, it was perhaps a small challenge for the men to undergo a fitting for their tuxes on Sunday! Monday was a day of pampering for Min, who got a mini-makeover with her hair and makeup trial. The trip ended with the sweetest item of all - a cake tasting and planning session with the beautiful and talented Ileana of Sugar Realm, who will ... [There is more. Click on the title above.]
The photos taken at the Seattle Art Museum Olympic Sculpture Park/ Myrtle Edwards Park have finally arrived, and we are really excited to share them with you. We began the session at the 9-acre outdoor waterfront park, where sculptures are displayed against stunning backdrop of the majestic Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound. We then wandered through a series of gardens representing distinctive archetypal landscapes found in the Pacific Northwest. Finally, we continued the walk up to the Myrtle Edwards Park, following winding bike and pedestrian paths along Elliott Bay to capture additional waterfront views of Puget Sound. We ended our shoot at the spot of the Proposal, where we were ... [There is more. Click on the title above.]
Even though we have been fortunate to have taken some beautiful pictures when chronicling our times together, we have had poor success in collecting great pictures of both of us. We wanted to commemorate our special occasion with beautiful pictures that truly captured how we feel. And what better place to immortalize than the SAM Sculpture / Mytle Edwards Park? With the help of Kristen Marie Photography, we overcame our camera-shyness and spent two fun hours enjoying each otherís company and being happy-silly. The weather could not have been more beautiful, with plenty of sun! We have seen a few of them so far, and canít wait to share the rest with our loved ones.
We flew out to Cincinnati to finalize the date and the locations for the wedding and the reception. We were fortunate to attend Sunday Mass at Mother of God, during which we had the opportunity to listen to the church organist, Carol Jenkins, perform. Afterwards we had a great time at Ericís parentsí house with many of his uncles, aunts, and cousins who took to time to attend our engagement party! Many thanks to Ericís mother for putting together the family pool party as well as making the delicious ice cream from scratch. Then we spent the next two days driving all over the Cincinnati/ Northern KY area, for vendor ideas. Overall the trip was a huge success, in which we were ... [There is more. Nine months after we met and shared Molly Moonís maple walnut ice cream in Capitol Hill, we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives sharing countless experiences together. Eric waited for a clear evening to recreate another beautiful sunset, which was not necessarily an easy task, given the typical May weather in Seattle. But thankfully the sun broke out over the SAM Sculpture Park/ Myrtle Edwards Park, where we had taken our first stroll on our sixth date. Apart from a few strollers, the Puget Sound waterfront was quiet and peaceful -- the perfect backdrop for the proposal. Afterwards, we sure surprised Minís mother, who was visiting Min in Seattle at the time, with the ... [There is more. Click on the title above.]
