Lundin Peak is in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area of Washington State. The peak is north east of the Alpental ski area. We started on August 3rd at the Pacific Crest Trail parking area near exit 52 on I-90. The elevation at the parking area is 3000 feet. At the end of the 5.5 mile hike to Red Pass and Lundin Peak the final elevation will be 6057 feet.

Red Pass, between Lundin Peak and Red Mountain (5890 feet). The trail we are on goes to Red Pass and then follows the ridge of the pass to Lundin Peak.
I'm not sure what this type of rock is called but it looks very interesting.
