Silver Peak, Snoqualmie Pass Wasington

A friend of mine mentioned this hike to me last year, but, it wasn't until this Friday in July that I made it up to Silver Peak. I'm very glad that I went when I did. Silver Peak is about the same altitude as Granite Mountain but further south. I started from Windy Pass, where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Forest Service road 907. From this point the hike to Silver Peak is much shorter and has less elevation gain than the hike to Granite Mountain.

What I really liked about the view from Silver Peak was that I could see so many of the places that I had hiked in the past.

Ahh, I can see the top now. Is that the top?	Getting closer. I think.	Mount Catherine just to the left. Keechelus Lake (low water level) straight ahead.
Panning counterclockwise from Mount Catherine .	Well, I guess I'm not at the top. Snow in July, always amazing. Especially when it is sitting in the open sunlight.	A look back. And what a look back it is. Mt. Rainier..

Mount Catherine again. This time I'm 500 feet higher than the peak of Mount Catherine.	An awesome picture of Snoqualmie Pass.	A view of Humpback Mountain (foreground) and Mc Clellan Butte in the background (peak right of center).
Looking down the east side of Silver Peak you can see Twin Lakes.	I like this picture because it shows the tree-line on Bandara Mountain.
