This April I took my third trip to India for work. Just like my previous trips I asked my family if they wanted me to bring anything back for them, this time I got a surprising answer from my mother when she said, can you get me a Sari. I was a bit hesitant to go shopping for a Sari because I couldn't imagine where my mother would have an opportunity to wear the Sari. But, something came over me during my four weeks in India and I asked a coworker of mine, Lisah, to help me find a Sari for my mother. Another coworker of mine, Satish, also came along. Together we found what turned out to be the perfect Sari for my mother. A beautiful read color that she just loves. When I was in India many people asked me if my mother knew how to tie a Sari or if she had any Indian friends to show her, I told them no, but, "I'm sure there is a video on YouTube". I was surprised to find so many videos on YouTube on how to tie a Sari. I've included three of them here so that my mother can find them easily.

I don't have any pictures of my mother in her Sari yet, but, when I do I'll be sure to post them for all of you to see.
