Getting Things Done with "Things" for the iPhoneSince the iPhone came out I've been looking for a way to organize lists. My list for the grocery store, my list for home improvement, my list of things to do at work and at home. Although there are lots of list applications for the iPhone none of them were easy enough to use for me or allowed me to catagorize items the way I like. So, I always fell back to using the Notes application from Apple that is on every iPhone. Then one day I found Things for the iPhone and Things for Mac OS X. I hesitated at first because the iPhone app is $10 and the Mac OS X app is $50, but now I feel that it was money well spent. You may have heard of GTD or Getting Things Done. Getting Things Done is a book by ... [There is more. I found out about Air Combat USA through the 2008 annual Angelorum auction which I was helping to procure auction items for. When a fellow auction team member said he would be procuring this item I knew that I wanted to go and could probably get some coworkers to go with me. As it turned out we had six people go in our group. My dad and I, then three other co workers that work at the Cypress Lynnwood office and the son in-law of one of my coworkers. One of my coworkers, Steve Fouts, has posted his ... [There is more. Click on the title above.][more] Family Visit to Mt. RainierMy sister Molly, Nate her husband, my parents, and my nephew had never been to Mt. Rainier. I was hoping for clear skies since it was late August, but, we got clouds and rain. Nate and Molly had rented a minivan which allowed all of us to ride comfortably on the 3 hour drive from my house to the Paradise visitor center at Mt. Rainier National Park. We spent some time at the visitor center and then went walking along the paved trails up the mountain. Of course you don't make it far up the mountain given that the visitor center is at 3,500 feet and the summit is 14,400 feet, however, we were all thrilled by the animals, plants, and views. As we made it to panorama point we had to decide if we ... [There is more. Click on the title above.][more] Planes and Sushi in SeattleAt one time Boeing and Seattle were practically synonymous. Although I've lived in Seattle nine years I have never taken the Boeing Factory Tour, so when my parents and nephew visited in August of 2008 it was the perfect time to take the tour. The Boeing tour was Interesting, but, the Museum of Flight had even more planes and was therefore more interesting to me. Another first during my nephews visit was eating sushi. We went to Blue C Sushi which is a conveyor sushi restaurant. As you can see from the photos he actually seemed to like it![more] My Nephew's Baseball Experience in SeattleSeattle doesn't have the best reputation as a baseball town, but, that didn't stop my Mom, Dad, and nephew from having a good time here in Seattle. My nephew is a big baseball fan so when he took his first trip out to Seattle to visit me in August 2008 baseball was on our must do list. Most of the pictures below were from our tour of Safeco Field where the Seattle Mariners play. The last three pictures are from the Aquasox game we went to in Everett Washington.[more] Parasailing in Fort Myers FloridaWhen I was in Fort Myers Florida for my cousin Laura's wedding (June 28th, 2008) my mother and cousin Andrea wanted to go parasailing. Having never been before I thought it was a great idea. The experience was fun, but, not as thrilling as I was hoping for. We put on life jackets and harnesses on the boat then moved to the back of the boat where we were clipped into the parasail, which was already inflated behind us. A winch on the boat slowly let us float up into the air above the water. They the operator pulled us down and "dipped" us into the water a couple of times before winching us all the way back into the deck of the boat. It was a fun experience. The most enjoyable part ...
