Ruth Lonnemann

Tuesday, November 29, 2005

When I started looking for a picture of my Grandmother Lonnemann I was thinking of a picture of only her. I went and looked at the pictures from my most recent trip to Kentucky and found a picture where my Grandmother had a nice smile on her face. I then started to crop the picture, but, something felt wrong. It didn't seem right to crop my Grandfather out of the picture. Soon I realized that I shouldn't crop myself out either. Why, I thought to my self, should I take away from the picture its most important quality, the fact that this is a picture of a moment in my Grandmother's life and not simply a picture of her. Snoqualmie Pass: Silver Peak

Monday, October 17, 2005

It appears that Silver Peak is one of my favorite hikes as I have been there three times now. Thinking briefly about it I guess this should not be a surprise as Silver Peak is easy to drive to, moderate in length, and provides excellent views. Click through for a nine picture photo album from my third hike to Silver Peak.

October Visit to Kentucky

Sunday, October 16, 2005

In an effort to reduce the backlog of pictures I have to post I'm writing this as I fly back to Seattle from my visit to Northern Kentucky. This 9 day 8 night trip was an opportunity for me to spend some time with my Grandparents, family, friends, and a day of work. Hold on, did I say an opportunity to work! The real opportunity was not to work but to meet coworkers at the Cypress Kentucky CAD Center. Looking back on this trip I wish I had more pictures, even so I have quite a few that I hope my friends and family will enjoy seeing here at PIAP.com.

Iron Horse Trail: Twin Falls to Snoqualmie Tunnel

Sunday, October 16, 2005

People ask me if I like living in Seattle and I say, "yes the only thing that is missing is my family". Then I try to explain how great it is having the mountains, deserts, volcanos, glaciers, temperate rain forests, ocean, and Seattle all within no more than a two hour drive. I never really feel like I've made a convincing argument, so, I hope these pictures will help to explain one aspect of what a wonderful area the Pacific Northwest is. The following photo album contains pictures I took while riding my bike along part of the Iron Horse Trail.
